Terms of Service

This English version is a translation for convenience; if it differs from the Traditional Chinese version, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.
Kokodot ("we" or "us") provides a service that turns a park's guide map into a phone map (the "Service"). A park that purchases a plan, or its representative, is the "Operator". By using the Service, you agree to the following terms.
1. The Service
We align the guide map provided by the Operator to real coordinates and provide a web map for visitors, a spot list, multiple languages, a dedicated URL and QR code, and a staff calibration link that the Operator's staff use for on-site calibration.
The Operator can edit its own spots: names, descriptions, photos and opening hours. It can also add, hide or delete spots.
The Service is offered to all Operators as the same standard plan. We do not accept custom development; feature suggestions serve only as a reference for the product roadmap.
A park's visitor map page is open to search engine indexing by default so that visitors can find it; the Operator may ask us to turn this off at any time.
2. Guide map updates
- The plan fee includes two free map updates per plan quarter (every three months from the start of the plan year): the Operator provides a new guide map, and we realign the coordinates and spots.
- A new map with exactly the same legend and resolution as the original does not count toward this limit.
- Map updates beyond this limit are charged separately, and we will quote a price in advance.
3. Plans and payment
- Plans are per park (one dedicated URL), paid once a year, and renew automatically by default.
- Prices are in US dollars: US$590 per year, setup included. Founding members (the first 50 parks, until March 31, 2027, whichever comes first) pay US$295 for the first year, then US$590 per year. Price changes will be notified 60 days before renewal.
- Prices exclude applicable taxes. Payments are handled by Creem, the merchant of record, which calculates and adds sales tax at checkout and issues receipts.
4. Conditions of the founding member discount
An Operator that takes the founding member first-year discount agrees that, during the plan year in which the discount applies, we may list the Operator as a Kokodot partner using the Operator's brand name and logo, only in the partner section of the Kokodot homepage. We will not use the Operator's name or logo in advertisements, marketing materials or any other promotion without the Operator's prior written approval, and we will not use the Operator's guide map to promote Kokodot.
After the discounted year ends, the Operator may email us at any time to be removed, and we will do so within 30 days. An Operator that does not agree may buy at US$590 per year without the discount.
5. Refunds
If not satisfied, the Operator may request a full refund within 15 days of payment. After a refund, the park is suspended and its data is not deleted; you can reactivate it later.
6. Renewal, expiry and termination
- If the plan is not canceled at least 30 days before expiry, it renews automatically.
- If a renewal payment fails, there is a 30-day grace period during which the map keeps working; if payment is still not made when it ends, the Service is suspended.
- After the agreement ends, for as long as the Service continues to operate, the original URL will redirect to a URL designated by the Operator; the Operator may update the redirect target at any time. If the Service is to be discontinued, we will give at least six months' notice.
- On reactivation, the original URL and QR code are restored as they were.
- After the agreement ends, we remove the partner listing within 30 days.
7. Content and rights
- Copyright in the guide map and in content provided by the Operator (such as spot text and photos) belongs to the Operator.
- The Operator is responsible for spot and facility content; automatic translations are for reference only.
- The platform, software, calibration methods, and the calibration data we produce (control points, coordinate models and spot positions) belong to us. The Operator receives a license to use them during the service period; after the agreement ends, this data is not handed over.
- Within 30 days after the agreement ends, the Operator may email us to request the spot text and photos it provided.
- Unless the Operator objects in writing (except during the plan year in which a founding member discount applies), we may list the Operator as a partner using its brand name and logo. The listing appears only in the partner section of the Kokodot homepage. Any other promotional use of the Operator's name or logo requires its prior written approval.
8. Content the Operator provides
- The Operator warrants that it has the necessary rights to the content it uploads or provides (such as the guide map, spot names and descriptions, and photos), and that this content does not infringe anyone else's copyright, privacy or other rights.
- The Operator grants us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license, for the service period, to use, store, display, translate (including automatic translation), resize and convert this content, solely to provide the Service. Storage includes earlier versions kept so that the Operator can restore them.
- This license does not transfer ownership: the content stays the Operator's, and the Operator may keep using it elsewhere.
- If a rights holder notifies us, or content appears to infringe someone's rights or break the law, we may remove it, and we will notify the Operator by email.
9. Rules of use
- The staff calibration link is for the Operator's staff only; do not make it public. If the link is leaked, email us and we will revoke it and issue a new one.
- You may not extract data from the Service in bulk by automated means.
- You may not use the Service's calibration data or software to develop or provide a similar service.
- You may not reverse engineer the Service, except where expressly permitted by law.
10. Location and limitation of liability
- GPS location is for reference only and is not suitable for emergency rescue or safety purposes.
- We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service stable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not provide real-time customer support.
- Our liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees actually paid by the Operator in the past 12 months.
11. Changes to these terms
Material changes will be announced on this page, and Operators with a purchased plan will be notified by email.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute shall be submitted to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance.
